I had one for many years, until the control board failed. Not a bad unit, but could use some help in the smoke department especially at lower temps. I remember I used to add small (1" diameter-ish) pieces of tree trimmings in with the wood chips to get more smoke. I believe I also added a broken up charcoal briquette for lower temp smokes to keep the smoke going because at lower temps the element wasn't on long enough to get the wood going effectively. Or something like that anyway. It's been quite a while since I used it so my memory is a little fuzzy.
Overall they're good little units though, and I wouldn't hesitate to get another one if a deal fell in my lap.

Don't some folks use an A-Maze-N Tube Smoker in their units to increase the smoke capacity.

That works too. I know my opinion is a little different than some. There is no bad smoker, just work arounds for what you got.
I mean, I did smoke a pretty decent butt and chicken on an el cheapo brinkman charcoal. Then i graduated to an el cheapo brink man electric. an ol friend from my navy days reminded me of my first smoked turkey (possibly my first smoking event) was a turkey on a 22" weber when we were stationed in Puerto Rico way back in 1985.
Flip the switch and see what you got.

I have had two over the years and the temp began fluctuating to the extreme. I did like the ease of making my homemade hot dogs in it though. I won’t buy another one. If you got a good deal on it then see what you think.
