Coming down the road eastward from the cemetery, if one stops where the road forks and absorbs the surrounding sights, the Baptist and Methodist Churches off to the left, the towering spreading oaks and the way the road forks and moves through the scene, then on past the scattered houses, one can’t help but be transported back to a simpler time and to a... -

Elgin Texas The Sausage Capital Of Texas Part II
Although Southside had cornered the market on sausage for more than 60 years, their reign would be challenged in 1949 when Hermina and Rudolph Meyer opened a small drive-in grocery where they sold raw sausage made from their German family recipe. Therefore, the Smoked Sausage and BBQ was created simply from having fresh meat and no refrigeration. In 1886, Moon opened his first brick and mortar store on Central Ave. In 1908, he sold the business... -

They are in every Walmart and many other stores, your know them you seen them, Texas Caviar
Few East Texas foods are as well-known as those spicy sausages, better known as “hot links,” served at Pittsburg (the one in East Texas). The hot links were first sold in 1897 by Charlie Hasselback, of German descent, who sold the uncooked links from a building on Pittsburg’s Main Street to customers, who prepared the links for meals at home. By 1918, Hasselback... -

The Story Behind Stubbs BBQ Sauce
Barbecue sauce can be a very personal choice when it comes to flavor and texture. Walk into any grocery store and you'll find an entire section of an aisle devoted to this tangy, sweet sauce to lather on your preferred cut of meat and roast it on the grill. Most people have their favorite style, whether they prefer a zing or sweeter notes of rich molasses.
Stubb's BBQ sauce has a following with plenty of fans but many people may not realize that purchasing a bottle of Stubb's sauce...
