    Hi folks,
I found an original Okie Joe 16" offset on CL. they're asking $450. Is that a decent price?

That is NOT a rip-off and that is no where NEAR the cooker that Old Okie is. That's at least 3/16 steel..maybe .25 on that Okie.

Hey..no big deal. that OJ is the same as what I have shown below... Brinkmann bought OJ years back and for about 2 years continued with the original design... and put it on the trailer...

I have a 16" Horizon which is supposedly made by the guys that used to make OJ. It was 18mos old and I gave $450 for it, no questions asked. From BassPro, the same thing runs a grand. My only concern for your smoker is if it is an original OJ. Those wheels are typical Brinkman wheels and are too puny for 1/4inch steel. $450 for 1/4inch steel smoker is a good deal and I wouldn't let 50 hold me back. $450 for Brinkman OJ 3/16 inch steel smoker is a rip since you can probably get a new one as cheap or cheaper in fall from Wally World or Lowes.

Check out the Horizon web site if your curious about the wheel issue and you will see what I mean. A 16" smoker made out of 1/4 steel is fricking heavy.

If I was in the market for a smaller offset smoker, I'd pay 4 bills for it in a heartbeat if it is in good shape. The older OJ were built very well with 1/4" steel.
