Anybody have a tried and true Santa Maria rub for tri tips. Thanks guys

Here is a link to the official Santa Maria BBQ site. There are recipes for the authentic BBQ. The rub is pretty simple

That being said, there are a lot of spin off recipes that have become popular. I think the key to a good tritip is cooking it to the right temp.

BBQ Goddess has a java rub that is fantastic in the smoker.

    Good luck

Thanks for the link Scarbelly. I actually have used that java rub on several trip tips and they turn out awesome. I am bubbies with he bbq partner Ryan (uncle honkey). Again, thanks for the link. Have a good one.

Never heard of Santa Maria rub. Could you fill me in on what I might be missing? Is this a sweet or spicy rub, my curious mind wants to know.
