Here are the particularly relevant passages.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This is a specially formulated silicone powder coating product designed to provide service up to a peak temperature of 1200°F without losing film integrity. The coating will provide consistent performance at operating temperatures up 800°F without softening, losing gloss or losing film integrity.
PERFORMANCE TESTING
Continuous testing for 48 hours at 800°F indicates these products hold gloss, color and physical integrity at this service temperature. Testing for 168 hours at 1000°F indicates good performance up to 24 hours with some gloss change at extended times and higher temperatures.
FINISHED PRODUCT HANDLING
The finished coated product is not as tough as standard powder coatings. Care must be exercised in handling and packing to ensure that finish is not damaged.
So, yes it should stand up to the temperatures of the firebox nicely but I should probably be careful when preheating splits on top of the firebox. Setting them down gently and lifting them off versus dragging them across the top of the firebox would probably be a good idea.Attached FilesCUHS Metal Shop Reverse Flow
