    And the only peppers I have are on my bonsai Serrano plant.

      In the late summer I will bring it inside, trim up the roots a bunch, and put it in an actual bonsai pot.
      Should be able to remove all the wires by then.

      Theoretically this thing could live for years.

              It turns out that Serrano plants are only good for a couple of years.

              Here's one I did last summer. I left it to die at the end of the season.


              I'll maybe try a different variety this summer

                my brother has had his for more than that and i have had a couple of varieties of chilis last over 5 yrs......i think you have to have mild winters. our issue here is getting them through the summer!

                  Your garden is always great Craig. I have to say I miss Big Guy's and Alex's gardens. They were gigantic. Nicely done brother.

                    Yeah, the thing with bonsai pepper plants is the small amount of soil so they gotta be watered twice a day (at least) in the summer and brought indoors in the winter.

                    There's no good reason for it except to see what I can get away with.
