  • Pulled Chucky with a Twist..

So they had chuck roast on sale for 1.99 a pound so figured I would cook one while I did a few yard birds for pulling as well.

Foiled the chuck at 160* to collect all the goodness, also added a few pats of my Chipotle butter and brought to about 195*. and sliced up and let sit in the juice all night...

Next day put into a pot with a touch of flour to "thicken" up the juices a bit more and make almost a gravy...mmmmm... to put onto a nice sandwich. The meat was even more tender than normal, and the compound butter was a nice addition of flavor!!

Reduced it down quite a ways and put onto a toasted roll with lettuce, Havarti cheese, pepper rings and some of the blooming onion sauce that I had in the frig! Talk a about a happy little sandwich!! It was quite flavorful!

    Have a great day folks!

1.99 per pound? Wow, I can't touch them for anywhere near that price lately. Like your preparation process also, that's definitely worthy of a try. Nice post Brian.

Looks wonderful. I did some chucks a few weeks ago. One for sammies...and the other made a pot roast out of it. Was great. Have never "pulled" one. Will try this.
