I have made my own using this recipe, but never thought of adding to burgers. Can't see why not.
Java BBQ Rub (makes about ¾ cup. Approx. Cost Per Serving Not Available)
6 tablespoons ground coffee
2 tablespoons kosher salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons sweet paprika
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1) Mix the ingredients together in a bowl, stirring with a fork, whisk, or even with your finger. Thoroughly blend the spices, and make sure the brown sugar has broken up.
2) Apply directly to meat, or move to an airtight container for storage.

Not bad on burgers, butt definitely more for a steak IMO...... Just seasoned it pretty heavy, where maybe mixing it into the burger would be best..... Over cooked a bit for me (BY ME!!)..... More testing needed..... Thinking indirect would be better for burgers, and possibly meatloaf?
