  • Post 6,000 and Some Fine Baby Back

Well in honor of post 6K figured I would put on one of my favorite meals.

Baby backs, onion rings and fresh maters and coleslaw.

    So lets get after it.

Rubbed the baby backs down with hunky on 2 of them and blues hog on one.

Into the yoder at 250* for a few hours while doing yard work!

Here they are out prior to foil. Rubbed with butter and brown sugar and back onto the smoker.

Got to work on the slaw. Pretty simple slaw.... shredded cabbage, sugar and celery seed. let sit for a few hours in frig.

Then onto the onion rings.. So I admit it I love the blooming onion from outback... dont get there often but I do love that dang sauce as well... we finally found one that was pretty much spot on...only after about a week in the frig though to let everything get happy.... Here it is... and the recipe for anyone else who likes that dang stuff!!! Not sure I will need to go back to the outback after doing this dip!!

    1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
    3 tablespoons cream style horseradish
    2 tablespoons whole milk
1 teaspoon Crystal Louisiana hot sauce
1 teaspoon paprika (McCormick brand works best)
    1 ½ teaspoons sweet paprika
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1/8 teaspoon white pepper
    1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    1/8 teaspoon cumin
    1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
    1/8 teaspoon ground savory

Pulled the ribs off and here they are.. one sauced two un-sauced.

Added mayo to the slaw and here it is... if you have miracle whip use it.. better for this if you ask me!

Oh man these were killer ribs. Here is a cut rib.

    and onto the plate.

This is one of my favorite meals, I had the Hunky ribs with the Blues Hog BBQ sauce! Oh man great stuff!!. Had to do something special for the 6000th post. thanks for a great site and to you all!!
